Rebecca Kingsley Sewall

Rebecca Kingsley Sewall is a real estate broker, investor, and former professional singer whose work has been shaped by an enduring interest in the relationship between people and place.

Born and raised in Portland, Maine, Rebecca left home at 15 to pursue a career in music. She trained at respected institutions including Interlochen Arts Academy, Walnut Hill School for the Arts, and The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music before building an international career as a professional singer based in New York City. Her recording career included collaborations with R&B and jazz legend Bernard “Pretty” Purdie, acclaimed jazz guitarist Mark Whitfield, and three-time Grammy Award-winning artist Wyclef Jean.

Alongside her musical training, Rebecca studied religious studies at Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts, exploring Indigenous spiritual traditions and the significance of place within different cultural worldviews. The idea that place is more than a physical setting, that it shapes our sense of identity, connection, and belonging, became a lasting influence on how she thinks about home. Having moved through nearly every school system in Greater Portland as a child and spent much of her adult life traveling the world, she came to understand both the pull of home and the profound impact of the places we choose to inhabit.

That perspective eventually brought her back to Maine, where real estate offered a way to unite her entrepreneurial instincts with her interest in the built environment and the lives people create within it.

Rebecca first met her husband, Brian Sewall, in 2012 at a blues club in New York City, just before taking the stage to celebrate the release of her debut album. Their shared entrepreneurial spirit led them into real estate investing, where they found a niche in acquiring and renovating multifamily properties. Rebecca brought the business strategy and dealmaking; Brian brought hands-on construction knowledge and design expertise. What began as an investment venture quickly grew into a broader real estate career. After earning her license, Rebecca's first year in sales totaled millions of dollars in transactions, including what was then the largest real estate sale in Cumberland County history.

Today, Rebecca continues to invest in and renovate properties with Brian while representing buyers and sellers throughout Southern Maine. As Owner and Designated Broker of Peninsula Real Estate, she brings an investor's understanding of value, a creative eye for design and possibility, and a business-minded approach to every transaction.

Rebecca is a member of the Maine Association of REALTORS®, York County Council of REALTORS®, and the Greater Portland Board of REALTORS®.

Brian Sewall

Brian Sewall is an artist and maker who’s spent most of his life exploring his creativity through craftsmanship and design.

Growing up in Portland, Brain worked for his father in custom home design and cabinet building. Eventually drawn to industrial design, he later graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design as an Industrial Design Major and was named Designer of the Year by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA).  After graduation, Brian joined the prestigious RedFish firm as an Industrial Designer, where he utilized skills like prototyping, drawing, 3D modeling, and CAD work. Though grateful for the opportunity, Brian found it difficult to nurture his creative side in a suit-and-tie office environment and left the firm.

Brian soon moved back to Maine, where he resumed work at his father’s contracting company and ran a custom vintage moped shop. During this time, he also met Rebecca Kingsley, setting them both on a path toward real estate and renovation.

In addition to home design and production, Brian also enjoys welding, jewelry design, sculpture, woodworking, and tinkering in his shop.
